The Office of Experiential Education (ExEd) offers a grant program to support existing or new experiential education programs that serve Purdue West Lafayette and Indianapolis students. Two types of grants are available. ExEd Program Development Mini Grants that range from $3,000 to $5,000 with two grants awarded in this category. ExEd Program Development Major Grants will range from $25,000 to $40,000 and will require matching funds, with one grant awarded during the present funding cycle.
Eligible programs will be one of the following:
- existing ExEd programs that can demonstrate alignment with the university definition of ExEd,
- existing ExEd programs whose funding proposal would bring it into alignment with the university definition of ExEd, or
- new ExEd programs, under development, which will launch during the award period and will align with the university definition of ExEd.
This grant is conceptualized as a one-time investment to develop, strengthen, update or expand an ExEd program. Allowable costs include, but are not limited to, capital equipment, supplies, website or app development, design services, printing or travel. A few examples of past awarded programs have included redesigning courses to include an experiential education component, developing new content to update experiential education practices and purchasing new equipment to enhance experiential education opportunities. Additional past program examples can be found on the ExEd website.
Proposals are due to the Office of ExEd by Oct. 11, 2024.
Additional information about the ExEd Program Grants and the proposal template are available on the Office of ExEd’s website. Inquiries may be directed to Jennifer Bay, ExEd fellow in Purdue’s Office of Experiential Education.
