Experiential Education Opportunities in Indianapolis
Team-based Projects with Industry and Community Partners
Open to all students and required for all first year engineering students, the EPICS and VIP programs will take you to the next level in design, implementation and teamwork skills. These are just two examples of experiential education courses in which students work on projects with partners in the community. EPICS (Engineering Projects in Community Service) projects focus on serving the community by addressing a social need and VIP (Vertically Integrated Projects) focus on research and industry. Many upperclassmen can meet disciplinary elective requirements through these courses. Teams work best when students from different majors bring their unique perspectives and skills to the team. As a member, you'll be part of a vibrant community where you'll work as a team on a data-driven project sponsored by a corporate partner and mentored by industry experts.
Internships or Co-ops
Meaningful work-integrated learning experience prior to graduation can lead to more job offers and a higher starting salary for students. Students are encouraged to participate in the course ENGR 103: Intro to Professional Practice, offered by the Office of Professional Practice, to ensure success in securing a high-impact work-integrated learning experience.
Undergraduate Research

Experience a change of pace from formal classroom activities and gain skills applicable to both research and non-research careers.
